This rich, smooth and creamy Avocado Chocolate Pudding is made with raw cacao powder and stevia powder for the perfect sugar-free and low carb dessert. An easy and healthy chocolate indulgence that’s loaded with healthy fats and fiber, and is dairy-free, Vegan and Paleo too!
Jump to RecipeFun fact: The avocado I used for this recipe had been in my fridge for 3 months!
No, I’m not exaggerating.
I bought a ton of avocado when I was hooked on the Low Carb Protein Green Smoothie I made, but that phase died before the avocados were gone.
After that I just forgot they existed.
So now that I’m on the “let’s check off all those dessert recipes on my list” phase, I cut open that avocado with my fingers crossed. Not gonna lie, it was just perfectly ripe and green. No stale brownness at all!
And it was clearly perfect because this chocolate avocado pudding was just that too!

All you need for this decadent concoction is:
- A small Ripe Avocado
- Raw Cacao Powder or unsweetened cocoa powder
- Almond Milk for a dairy free recipe

Let’s make this Healthy Chocolate Pudding with Avocado and Cacao Powder:
This homemade avocado chocolate pudding is as easy as a recipe gets.
All you need here is a blender or food processor and a couple of minutes of time.
- Cut and scoop out the flesh from the avocado
- Blend the avocado, milk, cacao or cocoa powder, vanilla and sweetener in food processor or blender.
And that’s it!
Transfer it to a bowl and indulge in this healthy stevia sweetened Vegan chocolate pudding with no sugar!
Some tips to make this avocado chocolate mousse recipe perfect!
Make sure your avocado is completely ripe – this is what makes the chocolate pudding truly creamy!
Use a chilled avocado straight out of the fridge, same with the milk. This pudding really tastes best when it’s cold, so you really don’t want to use something from the counter.
Chill your avocado pudding so the chocolate flavor gets even richer – I’d recommend this even if your avocado was cold to begin with.
Use raw cacao powder or unsweetened cocoa for the deep and dark chocolate flavor, not the Dutch processed or other sweetened hot chocolate mixes.
What’s the best way to serve this sugar-free chocolate avocado pudding?
Cold cold and cold! That’s all I have to say.
At the risk of sounding redundant, use a chilled avocado, and even keep the pudding in the fridge after blending it with the cocoa and sweetener.
Trust me, you want a chilled pudding!
For the best contrast of textures, I would recommend topping this avocado mousse with some chopped nuts or crackers or even just crushed cereal.
“how long does avocado chocolate pudding keep”?
That was my very first question when I thought of making this recipe.
As we all know, cutting a ripe avocado and leaving it in the fridge really isn’t the best. It browns and just goes bad.
Thankfully, you can actually store this avocado chocolate dessert!
Just put it in an airtight container and it should last in the fridge for about 3 days.

I really was surprised by (but grateful of) the lack of avocado taste in the pudding too! So so so happy you liked this one so much 🙂
