Post-Workout meals just got more exciting! A Banoffee Pie Protein Shake to give you a break from that monotonous protein shake. All the core flavors of the banana, vanilla and toffee come through here, so it might take a while to get tired of this one.
Jump to RecipeIts thick and creamy, and with all the right nutrition, will leave you satisfied for quite a while!
Speaking of “a while”, this recipe all-in-all took me close to an hour.
Well the actual shake-making took less than 5 minutes of effort, but that presentation? Don’t even get me started.
The drip on the glass, the spill on the ground, the on-point toppings, the uniformly random fallen chocolate pieces … a lot went in there. Oh wait, I forgot the hardest part – Getting that banana piece on the shake to stand up straight. Don’t even ask how I managed that.
As for the actual process: If you’ve got frozen bananas on hand, just blend all the ingredients in a blender and you’re all set. 2 minutes is all it takes.
let’s talk about the actual flavor: Banoffee Pie.
Not sure what it is? Well according to Wikipedia its an “English dessert pie made from bananas, cream and toffee, combined either on a buttery biscuit base”.
So the Banofee comes from Banana + Toffee. To keep the sugar low though, I used Toffee flavored liquid stevia from Sweetleaf Stevia, but you can use a date instead to get some natural sugar instead of the crappy version.
The taste? Just like banana + toffee!
P.S. if you’re not someone who works out, you can still have this for breakfast, dessert, as a snack in the morning, afternoon, evening, or whenever! Any excuse will do.
