We all love a good BBQ sauce, but all that store-bought crap’s usually loaded with sugars to get the flavor right. Try making this Sugar-free Smoky Spicy Barbecue Sauce yourself instead for an ultra-flavorful version of the condiment that hits the spot without any added sugar.
Jump to RecipeSo about those store-bought sauces.
They’re such a shortcut to flavor up any meal, that its not at all surprising they sell like hot cakes. And I was most certainly among the majority of the population taking the easy way out.
That changed when I learned all about reading a nutrition label. What to look for, the good parts, the bad parts, the beware parts, and a whatever other parts there are.
So when I looked at the labels on all those bottles in the store, I just put them all back. So much sugar!
But I couldn’t just give up on my favorite condiment, so I started making my own with a little something extra.
It doesn’t really take much of an effort.
I wouldn’t have gone for it if it did.
All you really need to do is chop up some tomatoes, puree them completely in the food processor, and then just let them cook on the stove for a while (
Here’s my homemade smoky spicy barbecue sauce that’s sweet, tangy, and spicy, all at the same time. A great replacement for anywhere you’d use the regular version.
