5 minutes is literally all it took to make these high protein nutella rice crispy treats, and it was SO worth it.
What a rich and dark chocolatey flavor, but still all sugar free. These high protein Nutella rice crispy treats have no marhmallows and no sugar whatsoever!
Ingredients for Protein Nutella Rice Krispie Treats
These protein Nutella rice krispie treats are made with clean ingredients like protein powder, and sugar free Nutella alternative, and have no marshmallows! A great healthy protein Nutella crispy treats recipe.
- Rice Krispies Cereal
- Sugar free Chocolate-Nut Butter Spread/Nutella! I used the monk-fruit sweetened Nutella substitute – Suntella – from Lakanto for this brownie recipe since it’s sugar free (same code here too).
- Chocolate Protein Powder for high protein energy balls, and also replace the sweetener.
I used Quest chocolate milkshake. - Unflavored Collagen Peptides for an extra high protein rice krispies treats. I use the one from Further Foods (HAYLSKITCHEN gives you a discount)
- Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
- Flaxseed Meal
- Some Unsweetened Almond Milk
And for the topping:
- Chopped Hazelnuts
- Chocolate Chips – I use sugar free ones from Lakanto here (HAYLSKITCHEN for a disocount here too). Lily’s is another sugar-free option!
- A bit of Coconut Oil

To store protein powder Nutella rice crispy treats, place in an airtight container and keep on the counter for up to 3 days.
Keep these high protein Nutella rice krispies treats refrigerated or in the freezer so they stay fresh and last longer. They keep in the fridge for up to a 1 week.
To freeze, place healthy Nutella rice krispie treats in airtight sealed container, or individually wrapped in plastic wrap and placed in zipper bag; Protein Nutella krispies should keep for 2 or 3 months. Be sure to let them thaw on the counter before eating!

I made these sugar free and gluten free and low calorie healthy rice crispy treats with this particular ingredient list, but here’s some options to choose from.
- Chocolate Protein Powder: Use vanilla flavor
- Unflavored Collagen: Almond flour or oat flour
- Flaxseed Meal: Ground Chia Seeds
- Almond Milk: Regular Milk
Vegan High Protein Crispies
Since there’s no marshmallow in this recipe, these healthy Nutella rice krispie treats recipe can easily be made Vegan with the right ingredients.

Protein Nutella Rice Krispie Treats
Ingredients
- 2 cups Rice Krispies Cereal, 52g
- ⅓ cup Chocolate Protein Powder, 30g
- ¼ cup Chocolate-Nut Butter Spread/Nutella, Sugar-free recommended below, 42g
- 3 Tbsp Flaxseed Meal, 20g
- 2 Tbsp Unsweetened Cocoa Powder, 10g
- 2 scoops Unflavored Collagen, 20g, see post for sub
- ¼ cup Unsweetened Almond Milk, 60ml
Topping:
- ½ Tbsp Chopped Hazelnuts, 7g
- ½ Tbsp Chocolate Chips, Sugar free recommended, 7g
- ⅛ tsp Coconut Oil
Instructions
- Line an 8½ x 4½” loaf pan with parchment paper; leave an overhang to lift out later.
- Mix all ingredients except milk in a bowl – rice krispies cereal, protein powder, flaxseed meal, cocoa powder and collagen.
- Add milk – start with 3 Tbsp – and mix until combined.Add more milk if too dry, more rice krispies if too wet.(Taste mix and add sweetener if needed).
- Spread in pan and use spoon/spatula to smoothen.Top with chopped hazelnuts
- Place in freezer to harden about 10 minutes.
Topping:
- Lift bars out of pan, place on cutting board and using a sharp knife, slice into 8 bars.
- Place the chocolate chips and coconut oil in a microwave safe bowl and microwave at 30 second intervals, stirring – for about 45 seconds until completely melted.Let cool slightly.
- Drizzle over bars, let cool.
