Layered Apple Pie Protein Jar is perfect for a healthy Thanksgiving party. Low fat, low sugar graham base, high protein yogurt mix and cinnamon sugar apples!
Jump to RecipeI was considering an apple pie cheesecake recipe but I’m currently in a calorie deficit and needed something a little lower fat to fit into my macros, so here we are. I used a protein powder and yogurt mix instead of the cream cheese layer I had in mind, and this turned out amazing!
And super pretty too – whether you have to entertain guests at a party or just want a treat to enjoyo for yourself, you’re gonna love these little jars!
Ingredients for Apple Pie Protein Jar
This apple pie protein jar is made with simple ingredients and is great for a quick healthy dessert for a Thanksgiving party.
Here’s what you need for the no bake protein apple pie jar:
- Crushed Graham Crackers
- Sugar Free Maple Syrup: Lakanto is the one I recommend! (code HAYLSKITCHEN will give you a discount)
- Almond Butter
The Protein yogurt mix:
- Vanilla Protein Powder – this makes for a sugar free protein pudding pot since it serves as the sweetener in place of sugar. I used the vanilla protein powder from Quest for this recipe.

- Almond Milk
For the Cinnamon Sugar Apples:
- Apples
- Cinnamon
- Zero Calorie Brown Sugar: Lakanto Brown is the one I use (code HAYLSKITCHEN should give you a discount)

How to make No Bake Apple Pie Jar
This no bake apple jar is super easy to make, and here’s what you need to do:
- Prepare the Apple Pie Filling:
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the diced apples, sweetener, ground cinnamon and water.
Stir occasionally and cook until the apples are soft and the mixture thickens (about 10-12 minutes).
Remove from heat and let it cool.
- Prepare Crust:
Combine graham crackers, almond butter and maple syrup in food processor to form thick crumbles.
- Prepare Protein Yogurt Mix:
Combine yogurt, protein powder and milk in a bowl (add milk little at a time so it doesn’t get too runny).
- Assemble:
Layer the dessert: graham, pudding, apples, pudding, graham, apples.
- Chill and Serve:
Let jars cool in fridge for 15-20 minutes, then serve.
To store Cinnamon Apple Protein Jars
Proper storage is required to make sure these cinnamon apple protein jars stay fresh as ever!
Airtight Jars:
Transfer the prepared jars into airtight containers or cover tightly with plastic wrap. Ensure the jars are tightly sealed to keep the ingredients fresh.
Refrigeration:
Store the apple pie jars in the refrigerator. The cool temperature will help preserve the freshness of the ingredients and prevent any perishable elements, like Greek yogurt, from spoiling.
Consume Within 4 Days:
While these jars can stay fresh for a few days, it’s recommended to consume them within 3-4 days for the best taste and texture. This ensures that the ingredients, especially the cinnamon apples, maintain their quality.
Avoid Freezing:
While the cinnamon apples and graham crust can withstand freezing, the yogurt may not maintain its texture after thawing. It’s generally best to enjoy these jars fresh from the fridge.
Serve Chilled:
When ready to enjoy, serve the Apple Pie Yogurt Jars chilled. The cool temperature enhances the flavors and textures of the ingredients.
Alternatives for Apple Pie Protein Yogurt
I used this set of ingredients for a low fat, lower sugar apple pie protein yogurt, but here are some alternatives to try:
- Monkfruit Sweetener: Regular sugar
- Non-fat Greek Yogurt: 2% fat or other low fat Greek yogurt, or even sour cream
- Graham Crackers: Other crackers or biscuit
- Almond Butter: Peanut butter, cashew butter or even tahini
