Jump to RecipeLet me just start off with how amazing my kitchen smelled when i was cooking the cinnamon apples for these apple cinnamon protein bars.
It really was so hard to resist!
And this overall combo of caramel and apple and cinnamon and white chocolate in these layered protein bars.. I’m at a loss of words!
Caramel Apple Protein Bars Ingredients
These caramel apple protein bars are made with simple healthy ingredients, have no sugar or condensed milk, making them the perfect gluten free, dairy free and sugar free homemade protein bar!
- Oat Flour – You can make your own by blending rolled oats in a high speed blender
- Unflavored Protein Powder to replace some of the flour (and carbs) in the recipe for a slightly lower carb high protein. I recommend the Multi-purpose mix protein powder from Quest Nutrition.
- Vanilla Protein Powder for high protein magic cookie bar, and also replace the sweetener.
I recommend Protein World Slender Blend or ProteinWorld Whey for this recipe to keep it sugar free; Use the code HAYLSKITCHEN for a discount.
Another option would be Quest. - Coconut Flour
- Sugar free Maple Syrup for low calorie protein bar with no sugar!
I use the sugar free monk fruit maple syrup from Lakanto (code HAYLSKITCHEN gets you a discount) - Almond Milk
The Almond Butter Protein Caramel Layer
These raw apple protein bars recipe uses a high protein and sugar free caramel layer made with almond butter instead of condensed milk or butter or sugar.
- Big Apple Almond Butter from American Dream! This is American Dream Nut Butter’s fall flavor: The Big Apple Almond Butter. ADNB also has a lot of other almond butters that would go perfect here. Code HAYLSKITCHEN gets you a discount here!
- Peanut Butter Powder, also known as Powdered Peanut Butter. I recommend Lakanto for a sugar free version (the code HAYLSKITCHEN gives you a discount). Or you could use the one from PbFit too.
- Vanilla Protein Powder for high protein peanut butter caramel.
I recommend the same here too: Protein World Slender Blend, ProteinWorld Whey, or Quest. - More Sugar free Maple Syrup
- A bit of Water
The Protein Cinnamon Apples
- Chopped Apples
- Vanilla Protein Powder
- 1:1 Sugar Free Brown Sugar Replacement: I used Lakanto brown monk fruit sweetener so that the apple bars are sugar free (code HAYLSKITCHEN gets you a discount here too)
- Cinnamon
And for the Chocolate Coating on Homemade Millionaire Shortbread
- Sugar free Chopped White Chocolate or chocolate chips. I use the white chocolate chips from Lily’s here. They also have a white chocolate bar that would work too.
- Coconut Oil so the chocolate is easier to melt and more smooth when you drizzle.

To keep high protein apple pie energy bars fresh, place in an airtight container and keep on the counter for up to 4-5 hours.
To store, keep healthy apple pie bars refrigerated or in the freezer so they stay fresh and last longer. They keep in the fridge for up to a 1 week.

Alternatives for Healthy No Bake Apple Protein Bars!
I made these healthy no sugar apple protein bars with this particular ingredient list, but here’s some options to choose from.
- Unflavored protein powder: Unflavored Collagen, or even Almond flour or Oat flour
- American Dream AB: Regular Almond Butter, Peanut Butter, Hazelnut Butter or even Tahini
- Peanut Butter Powder: Use 2 Tbsp Creamy Almond or Butter, but also reduce the water to maybe 1 Tbsp.
- Sugar free Maple Syrup: Regular maple syrup or Honey, but they won’t be Vegan or a no sugar recipe anymore.
- Coconut flour: Try using about 3 Tbsp of Almond Flour

These are absolutely delish. Base stayed a bit soft for me, but I was impatient to let it sit longer before trying. The PB “caramel”? OMG, soooo good. 13 year old son love it and I love giving him higher protein treats, didn’t even feel guilty about this one. Would love to try the toppings on a baked base too.
Yes Natalie Yes!
The PB caramel was definitely my favorite part – certainly guilty of having used it in so many other recipes. Can’t wait to see what you go for next!
Caramel + apple= amazingness. This is an awesome vegan friendly snack and the perfect way to use up the big bags of apple I buy at Costco haha. I used dark chocolate instead of white and that was of course delicious. I need to make another batch and double it this time so they last a few days lol
Leftover apples is actually why I went for these protein bars as well. Such a great idea to use dark chocolate! A must-try combo!
May or may not have inhaled these after taking the first bite. Like wow just wow. I’m literally out of words on how freaking amazing these were. Please just open a bakery already and sell these people will go crazzzzyyyyy!!!
These caramel apple protein bars really is one of my favs! I had quite a hard time resisting too!
That bakery is starting to sound dangerous, haha
