A healthy Edible Protein Oatmeal Cookie Dough made with oat flour and sweetened with protein powder for a gluten free and sugar free dessert. Raw oatmeal protein cookie dough is a single serve recipe and tastes like your favorite oatmeal chocolate chip cookie!
Jump to RecipeSo I actually added a protein oatmeal cookie dough recipe to my todo list a while ago, but just never got around to it.
And now I was planning on going for a unique fudge recipe, but when I put up a story poll for a flavor preference, a lot of responses wanted a cookie dough.
Just used the opportunity to create a single serve edible cookie dough recipe instead and decided save to the fudge for later.
Ingredients for Edible Protein Oatmeal Cookie Dough
A few simple and healthy ingredients here for this high protein raw oatmeal dough recipe.
- Instant Oats or Quick Oats
- Oat Flour – You can make your own by blending rolled oats in a high speed blender
- Chocolate Protein Powder for high protein cookie dough, and also replace some of the sweetener.
I used ProteinWorld Whey; The ProteinWorld Slender Blend another great option. Code HAYLSKITCHEN gets you a discount on both.
A third alternative would be Quest. - Unflavored Collagen Peptides for an extra high protein edible cookie dough recipe. I use the one from Further Foods (HAYLSKITCHEN gives you a discount)
- A bit of Coconut Flour
- 1:1 Zero Calorie Sugar Substitute – I use Lakanto, to keep this recipe sugar free; (code HAYLSKITCHEN for a discount here too)
- A bit of Cashew Butter
- Unsweetened Almond Milk
- Chocolate Chips – I use sugar free regular ones from Lakanto (same discount here too). Lily’s is another good option.
If your protein powder is not sweet enough, you might need some more ‘sugar’, or use stevia sweetener instead.

To store Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookie Dough
This raw oatmeal cookie dough recipe is perfect for when you want a quick single serving dessert, but you can store any extras if you have them.
Store extra edible protein cookie dough in the fridge for 3-5 days or freezer for 3 months; Use an airtight container.
To serve frozen oatmeal chocolate chip protein cookie dough, thaw overnight in the fridge, and add more milk if too hard.
Alternative ingredients for Healthy Edible Oatmeal Cookie Dough for One:
I made this healthy single serving protein cookie dough with the ingredients listed above to make sugar free recipe, but there’s some other options you can try too.
- Oat flour: Use heat-treated gluten free flour or whole wheat pastry flour (there’s plenty of videos online on how to do this)
Just make sure you’re not eating raw flour - Protein Powder: Any other flavored protein powder; You can also trying replacing this with more regular 0 calorie sweetener.
- Unflavored Collagen: Almond flour or more oat flour; I haven’t tried this myself though.
- Coconut flour: Try using about 3 Tbsp of Almond Flour. I haven’t tried this myself though. You might need to add more milk in this case too.
- 1:1 Zero Calorie Sugar Replacement: Regular confectioners sugar or coconut sugar (this won’t be sugar free though)
- Cashew Butter: Tahini, Almond Butter or Hazelnut Butter. I would not recommend peanut butter since the flavor can be quite strong
Reader Update: Readers have successfully skipped out the nut butter completely and used extra almond milk instead! - Almond Milk: Regular milk or other non dairy milk
Vegan and Dairy Free Raw Oatmeal Cookie
Use a plant based protein powder to get a Vegan oatmeal protein cookie dough; ProteinWorld has a Vegan protein blend as well.
Reader Update: Readers have had success with a plant based protein powder on this one!
The recipe is already dairy free since it uses almond milk and no actual milk.
You also want to make sure you use dairy free chocolate chips here.

This looks phenomenal and the nutrition stats are unreal! Question though… There’s oat flour listed twice. Is one of them supposed to be a different ingredient? I can’t wait to try it!
Thanks so much for catching that Kaci! One of them is Instant Oats. I just updated the recipe 🙂
I can’t wait for you to try it!
Thank you for the prompt reply! I made this yesterday, and was SO impressed with the results! I omitted the nut butter and just used a bit extra almond milk and it was the perfect texture! I also used a plant based protein and it was great! Just in case other readers wanted to know it works with other powders than whey!
Of course 🙂
I’m SO happy that you actually got to it this quick and even more that you liked how it turned out!
And thank you so much for letting me know about those substitutions too; I just updated my post with the details to help others out 🙂
