How to make High Protein Halloween Chocolate Bark:
This healthy viral date bark uses protein bars instead of dates, and is super easy to make. Here’s the steps:
Step 1: Melt the Chocolate
Begin by melting the chocolate chips with oil in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 15-second intervals, stirring until the chocolate is smooth and glossy.
Step 2: Spread the Chocolate
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Pour the chocolate onto the parchment paper and use a spatula to spread it evenly. It should be about ⅛ inch thick.
Step 3: Chill
Place in the freezer for about 20 minutes till frozen.
Step 4: Make the Nut Butter Spread
Stir together peanut butter, protein powder, cocoa powder and syrup (adding a little bit at a time). This creates a luscious and creamy spread for your healthy Halloween chocolate bark.
Step 5: Spread the spread
Spread the nut butter chocolate spread on the chocolate evenly.
Step 6: Add the Spooky Toppings
This is where the Halloween magic happens! Sprinkle the chopped Oreos, pretzels, and Halloween-themed eye candies across the top of the chocolate base. Get creative with your arrangement to make it as eerie as you like.
Step 7: Chill and Set
Place the baking sheet in the freezer for at least 30 minutes, or until the bark has fully set. Once it’s firm to the touch, remove it from the fridge.
Step 8: Break into Pieces
Now, break your Healthy Halloween chocolate Bark into irregular pieces, just like shards of a haunted chocolate masterpiece.
Can you Store Healthy Halloween Chocolate Bark Recipe
After conjuring up your magical healthy Halloween chocolate bark, you’ll want to ensure it stays fresh and ready for your spooky celebrations. Here’s how to store it properly:
- Airtight Container: Place leftover Halloween chocolate bark in an airtight container, ensuring they are not stacked too closely. This prevents them from sticking together and preserves their crispness.
- Refrigeration: Place the pieces in an airtight container; This can help keep the bark fresh for up to a week.
- Freezing: If you want to extend the shelf life of this protein halloween bark further, you can freeze it. Wrap individual pieces in parchment paper and place them in an airtight container or a resealable freezer bag. Label and date the container. The bark can stay good in the freezer for up to three months.
- Thawing: When you’re ready to enjoy your frozen healthy Halloween bark, simply remove it from the freezer and let it thaw in the refrigerator or at room temperature for about 15-30 minutes. This will restore its delightful crispness and flavor.
Alternatives for a Protein Halloween Chocolate Bark:
While this Protein Halloween Bark recipe is already a spooktacular delight, it’s also a canvas for your creativity and dietary preferences. Here are some alternate ingredients and variations to consider:
- Chocolate Choices:
Milk Chocolate: If you prefer a milder flavor, you can use milk chocolate instead of dark chocolate.
White Chocolate: Create a ghostly white bark by using white chocolate. Pair it with dark-colored toppings like dark chocolate chips for a striking visual contrast.
- Nut Butter Alternatives:
Use regular peanut butter, almond butter, cashew butter or even sunflower seed butter instead, in the case of allergies.
