Jump to RecipeIf you’re on the lookout for some crazy brownie recipes, these protein slutty brownies are a must try!
High protein brownies with a cookie dough bottom separated with a no Oreo healthy sandwich cookie middle – I’m trying to think if a brownie recipe can get any crazier!
In terms of flavor though, the rich chocolate flavor you expect comes through for sure in these protein powder brownies. No compromising there. And guess what with those sandwich cookies there, the flavor really does get enhanced too!
Ingredients for Protein Slutty Brownies:
These fudgy slutty protein brownies are made with clean and healthy ingredients – no sugar, oil or butter needed.
- Gluten Free (All Purpose) Baking Flour – makes this a this a gluten free slutty brownie too!
- 1:1 Zero Calorie Sugar Substitute – I use Lakanto, to keep this recipe sugar free; (code HAYLSKITCHEN for a discount here too)
- Non-fat Greek Yogurt contributes to the oil-free part of this protein slutty brownie since it adds the moisture, and also extra protein
- Almond Milk or regular milk
- Baking Soda
For the Slutty Protein Brownie Batter:
- Chocolate Protein Powder needed for a high protein brownie and also replaces most of the ‘sugar’.
I used a whey-caesin blend protein powder from Quest Nutrition for this recipe.
Be sure to use a chocolate protein powder sweetened with stevia or monk fruit if you want a proper sugar free slutty brownie recipe. - Unsweetened Cocoa Powder, or Raw Cacao Powder (HAYLSKITCHEN.15OFF to save on Kiva Cacao)
And the Protein Cookie Dough Bottom of these Brownies:
- Vanilla Protein Powder; I used the one from Quest Nutrition here as well.
- Peanut Butter Powder, also known as Powdered Peanut Butter. I recommend Lakanto for a sugar free version. Or you could use the one from PbFit too.
- Chocolate Chips – I use sugar free ones from Lakanto here. Lily’s is another sugar-free option!
Code HAYLSKITCHEN for a discount on both of these from Lakanto.
And lastly the middle later:
- Sugar-free Oreo Sandwich Cookies – I used the Keto friendly Chocolate Vanilla Sandwich Cookies from Catalina Crunch to make these slutty brownies without Oreos.
Tips to make Easy Slutty Brownies with Protein Powder
These protein slutty brownies are super easy to make, and here’s some tips to get that just right.
- Use room temperature eggs, yogurt and milk;
This is so the wet ingredients and dry ingredients can mix well.
- Don’t over-mix the batter!
Make sure you gently fold the dry mix into the wet to combine them.
If you over-mix it, the protein powder – will make it tough, dense and gummy.
- Taste the batter and see if you need some extra sweetener. I’d recommend using stevia powder to maintain the consistency of the batter and have sugar free protein brownies.
- Spread batter laters evenly and to the ends so you get even laters.
- Use slightly wet fingers to smoothen top if batter sticks too much to spatula or back of spoon.
Alternatives for Healthy Slutty Brownies
For the perfect healthy, high protein and low calorie slutty brownies, I would highly suggest using the ingredients and brands I recommended; I do have some alternatives you can try.
I haven’t testing them all, so I can’t say how your recipe might turn out.
- 1:1 Gluten Free Baking Flour: All purpose flour or Whole Wheat Pastry Flour, with the same amount by weight.
- Greek Yogurt: Coconut Yogurt
- Almond Milk: Any other milk
- 1:1 Zero Calorie Sugar Replacement: Regular confectioners sugar or coconut sugar (this won’t be sugar free though, and also higher in calories)
- Peanut Butter Powder: Regular Peanut Butter, but reduce the milk in the common base to about ¼ cup, then add about 1 Tbsp extra milk in the brownie batter (I haven’t tried this yet though)
Vegan
There’s already no eggs and no butter needed for this brownie, so to make high protein Vegan slutty brownies, just make these few swaps:
- Replace the Greek yogurt with coconut yogurt
- Use dairy free chocolate chips
- Plant based sandwich cookies
- Plant based protein powder; I haven’t tried this yet, but I know ProteinWorld has a Vegan protein blend that I would use in other recipes, so that would be a good option to try here. (Code HAYLSKITCHEN gets you 30% off this).
Do let me know if you give this version a go.
How to Store Protein Brownies with Cookie Dough Bottom
This Oreo and cookie dough bottom protein brownie recipe keeps well for a meal prep dessert or post workout snack and is freezer friendly too!
