Ingredients for Protein Frozen Yogurt Bites:
These frozen yogurt protein bites are made with just 4 ingredients you probably already have in your pantry. Here’s what it takes:
- Nonfat Plain Greek Yogurt
- Vanilla Protein Powder to add sweetness. I use the whey-casein blend from Quest.
- Pumpkin Puree
- Pumpkin Pie Spice
For the Magic Shell:
- Sugar-free Chocolate – The one from Lakanto (discount code HAYLSKITCHEN) is my go-to sugar free chocolate; Lily’s is another good option.
- Bit of Coconut Oil
How to make Pumpkin Greek Yogurt recipe with Protein Powder:
This pumpkin greek yogurt recipe is the perfect treat, and very easy to make too. Here’s the straps!
- Creating the Pumpkin Magic
Begin by mixing the Greek yogurt and canned pumpkin puree in a bowl. This combination forms the creamy canvas for your breakfast masterpiece. - Power Up with Protein
Stir in your choice of vanilla protein powder with the pumpkin Greek yogurt base. This not only boosts the protein content but also adds a subtle, satisfying flavor to the base. - Sweeten to Taste
For those who prefer a touch of sweetness, add stevia or drizzle in honey or maple syrup. Adjust the sweetness according to your preference or leave it out for a less sweet option. - Spice Up the Magic
Enhance the fall flavors by adding pumpkin pie spice to the mixture. This spice blend infuses your bowl with the quintessential taste of autumn. - Crafting the Magic Shell
In a microwave-safe bowl, combine chocolate and coconut oil. Heat in 15-second intervals, stirring until the mixture is smooth and glossy. This will be your magical, chocolatey topping. - Assembling the Enchantment
Pour your pumpkin protein yogurt into a bowl. Then, drizzle the magic shell over the top. Watch in awe as it hardens into a shell, adding both flavor and texture to your creation. - The Finishing Touches
Now, it’s time to sprinkle on the enchanting toppings – I did crushed graham crackers, but granola works too.
How to Store High Protein Pumpkin Yogurt:
You probably won’t have leftovers of this high protein pumpkin yogurt but you might be wondering how to store any leftovers or prep for future breakfasts. Don’t worry; we’ve got you covered. Here’s how to store this delightful creation:
- Refrigeration: If you have any leftover Pumpkin Yogurt Bowl, simply cover it tightly with plastic wrap or place it in an airtight container. Pop it in the refrigerator, and it will stay fresh for up to 1-2 days.
Alternate Ingredients for Healthy Magic Shell Pumpkin Yogurt:
While this magic shell pumpkin yogurt recipe is already a delightful masterpiece, it’s also a canvas for your creativity and dietary preferences. Feel free to experiment with these healthy alternate ingredients:
- Yogurt Choices: Instead of Greek yogurt, you can use alternative yogurt bases such as almond yogurt, coconut yogurt, or soy yogurt.
For an extra protein boost, consider using skyr or quark.
- Protein Choices: I used whey-casein protein powder, but feel free to use whey or plant-based if you have dietary restrictions.
- Chocolate Choices: While sugar-free chocolate semi-sweet is a fantastic choice for the magic shell, you can try regular or sugar free milk chocolate or white chocolate for a different flavor experience.
Opt for dairy-free chocolate if you’re following a vegan diet.
- Spice Variations: Try cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom, or a pinch of cayenne for a hint of warmth and excitement.
- Sweeteners: If you’re looking for extra sweetness, you can try honey, maple syrup, stevia, monk fruit sweetener, agave nectar, or date syrup. Adjust the quantity to achieve your desired level of sweetness.
Don’t be afraid to mix and match until you discover your perfect autumn-inspired breakfast delight.
