Tips for Protein Powder Red Velvet Bars
These protein powder red velvet cake bars are really easy to make, but here’s some tips to get it right.
- Use whey protein powder for the base; It works well with the ratio of ingredients here. If you use a whey-caeison protein powder, you might want to adjust the amount of milk to make it more.
- Use whey-caesin protein powder for the frosting since it works mixes well with the yogurt and doesn’t turn sticky.
- Mix the dough well to form a smooth mixture, but don’t over-mix since the protein powder might make the texture tough.
- Let the healthy red velvet cake bar layers chill before layering or slicing, or they will be too soft.
To store No Bake Red Velvet Cake Bars
This high protein no bake red velvet bars recipe uses Greek yogurt for the frosting layer and can only be kept a few hours on the countertop.
Store homemade red velvet protein bars in an airtight container in the fridge or freezer so they stay fresh and last longer. They keep in the fridge for up to a 1 week.
To freeze, place red velvet bars in an airtight sealed container, or individually wrapped in plastic wrap and placed in zipper bag; They should keep for 2 or 3 months. Be sure to let them thaw on the counter before eating!
