Delicious Snickerdoodle Power Protein Smoothie with a dose of fiber and healthy fat from flaxseeds and almond butter. Perfectly sweet and creamy (with cauliflower and no banana) this protein shake tastes just like a fresh cinnamon cookie!
Jump to RecipeAfter recently discovering that you can use frozen cauliflower and zucchini in place of banana to make the same sort of creamy milkshakes and smoothies, I’ve been on quite a roll with them.
Or should I say on a Cinnamon Roll? Lol
Well anyway, this was a very unplanned recipe. I just wasn’t feeling a savory dinner the other night, but had to get my veggies (and protein) in somehow. So I put that geniosity to good use.
Threw in a handful of the frozen vegetables, protein powder, cinnamon – and chia seeds coz why not – into a blender and created this.
It was so good I had to make it again and turn it into a blog post!

- Almond Butter because nuttiness is good 🙂

Tips for Cinnamon Bun Cauliflower Protein Smoothie or Bowl
- Steam, blanch or rice the cauliflower before freezing it. This prevents “freezer burn” and loss of nutrients.
- Peel the zucchini before freezing to avoid specks of green.
- Use a high speed blender with sharp blades so it can actually cut into the frozen vegetables.
- Add in more protein powder if your smoothie is not sweet enough – each brand is different.
- Add more milk if you want a thinner healthy snickerdoodle protein milkshake or a smoothie bowl.
Other Healthy Ingredients ideas for the Cinnamon Vanilla Protein Smoothie
- Chia Seeds in place of flax seeds for the same healthy fats and fiber – or just add this too!
- Hemp Seeds for another source of healthy fats, protein and omega 3s an 6s
- Collagen Peptides powder as a replacement for protein powder – You still have a high protein cinnamon cauliflower smoothie shake!
If your collagen is unflavored, add some vanilla extract and sugar-free sweetener. - Cashew Butter to replace the almond butter and make this snickerdoodle protein smoothie nut free too!
- Coconut Yogurt for a Paleo and Vegan cinnamon protein shake!
- Yellow or Summer Squash in place of the zucchini; It essentially has the same flavor and nutrient profile.
- A ¼ cup of Rolled oats but this won’t be paleo, keto or low carb anymore, and you would also need to add more milk in this case
