Pretty and perfect Strawberry Protein Balls with the crunch of a cashew inside! Strawberry protein bites are healthy, low carb, low fat, gluten free and have no sugar added!
Jump to RecipeI’d been holding off on making a high protein strawberry bliss ball recipe for months, and now that I finally got my hands on some freeze-dried strawberries, I had to!
The combination of the cashew and strawberries in the energy bites really is quite addictive.
No issues here though since these are low sugar, low carb and low fat strawberry snack balls!
Ingredients for Cashew Strawberry Protein Balls
These healthy cashew strawberry protein balls are made with simple ingredients like oat flour, protein powder and coconut flour, and are great for a healthy snack. Here’s all that goes in:
- Vanilla Protein Powder for a high protein snack, and also replace the sweetener.
I used whey+caesin Vanilla protein powder here from HTLT Supps.
Another option would be Quest. - Unflavored Protein Powder to replace some of the flour (and carbs) in the recipe for a slightly lower carb high protein recipe. I recommend the Multi-purpose mix protein powder from Quest Nutrition.
- Oat Flour (you can make your own with rolled oats in a high speed blender)
- Coconut Flour
- Freeze Dried Strawberries
- Unsweetened Almond Milk
- Some Cashew Butter: I recommend American Dream Nut Butter Strawberry Frosted Donut Cashew Butter that’s higher in protein and lower in fat than normal ones!
ADNB also has a lot of other cashew butter flavors that would go perfect here. Code HAYLSKITCHEN gets you a discount here!

Tips for Strawberry Protein Bites
This these strawberry protein bites are a no bake recipe, and really is quite easy. Here’s some pointers to get it right.
- Add more milk/coconut flour to mix if too dry/wet; Mixture should be handleable and rollable.
- Taste the batter and see if you need some extra sweetener. I’d recommend using stevia powder to maintain the consistency of the dough and have sugar free no bake protein bites.
- Use slightly damp hands to roll balls to prevent sticking to palms.
To store No Bake Strawberry Energy Balls
These strawberry energy bites are best stored in the fridge since they do have a bit of milk in there.
To store hot strawberry energy balls in the fridge, keep in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
To freeze strawberry protein bites, place cooled balls in an airtight sealed container or freezer safe zipper bag for 2-3 months. Let them thaw on the counter before eating!
Alternate ingredients for Healthy Strawberry Energy Balls with Protein Powder
I made sugar free, gluten free and healthy strawberry energy balls with the protein powder and ingredients above, but here’s some other clean ingredients you can try.
- Oat flour: Almond flour
- Coconut Flour: Try 3x the amount of almond flour (I haven’t given this a try yet, but it should work)
- Almond Milk: Regular milk or other non dairy milk
- Cashew Butter: Almond Butter, Hazelnut Butter or Tahini; I wouldn’t recommend Peanut Butter since it has a very strong taste.
To make Vegan Strawberry Energy Bites
Use a plant based protein powder to make Vegan strawberry protein bites.
