Well that combination really is so good – sweet and salty definitely is not overrated.
Unfortunately all those store bough jams have way too much sugar in them and are just not worth the calories.
So this high protein jam was my hack for a sugar free strawberry jam that’s sweetened with protein powder instead. Perfect alternative for the regular version, and actually healthy because this recipe has collagen powder in it too!
Ingredients for Strawberry Protein Jam
This strawberry protein jam is made with clean and healthy ingredients and has an extra bump of protein from collagen peptides powder, protein powder and flax seeds too!

- Flaxseed meal to thicken
- Lemon Juice for a bit of tang and also preserve.

How to make this High Protein Jam with Strawberries and Flaxseeds
This sugar free strawberry high protein jam recipe is so easy, it barely requires any effort – or skill!
- Just bring the chopped strawberry or other fruit and water to a low boil in a small pot.
- Mash it up with a potato masher or spoon.
- Take off the heat and add remaining ingredients: collagen powder, protein powder, flaxseed meal and lemon juice.
- Let cool and thicken for about 5 minutes

How to Store Strawberry Protein Powder Jam
Since this healthy homemade jam recipe has lemon juice in it, it does keep for a bit, but not too long since it has no preservatives.
Store homemade strawberry jam in the fridge for up to a week in an airtight container.

Fresh or Frozen Fruit for sugar free jam
This strawberry jam recipe with no sugar is perfect for both fresh and frozen fruit! I used fresh strawberries to make this flaxseed jam, but you can make it with frozen ones too.
Blackberry or Raspberry Protein Jam?
I made this high protein flax seed jam with fresh strawberries, but you can really use any berries here – strawberry, raspberry, blackberry, blueberry – all work great.
You can also sub in other juicy fruits like pineapple, kiwi and peaches.
Strawberry Protein Chia Seed Jam
You can replace the flaxseed meal or ground flax seeds in this recipe with chia seeds to get the same thick strawberry jam with no sugar added.
Serving ideas for Sugar Free Strawberry Jam
This beautiful thick jam is a great spread for a healthy version of a PB & J. For an extra high protein PB&J you can also pair this ham with my High Protein Peanut Butter Spread.

Fill it into a pop tart for an extra high protein strawberry pop tart.

Breakthrough Strawberry Protein Jam (No sugar!)
Ingredients
- 1 cup Strawberries, Fresh or Frozen, Chopped (144g)
- 3 Tbsp Water
- 1 Tbsp Vanilla Protein Powder, 5g
- 1 scoop Unflavored Collagen, 10g
- 1½ Tbsp Flaxseed Meal, 10g
- 1 tsp Lemon Juice
Instructions
- Heat strawberries and water in a small saucepan over medium, stirring occasionally until fruit begins to break down and bubble, about 7-10 min.
- Use a spoon or potato masher to mash to desired consistency.
- Remove from heat, stir in protein powder, unflavored collagen, flaxseed meal and lemon juice, and let thicken 5 minutes.
- Serve immediately or store (see post).
