Indulgent Thin Mint Protein Shake made with actual Girl Scout Cookies and mint-flavored Cashew Butter. Really the best Mint Chocolate protein shake ever!
Jump to RecipeOkay, this is hands down, the BEST protein shake I have ever had! And my husband actually says the same.
Not even kidding!
It’s got that rich chocolate flavor with the black cocoa, and perfect mint chocolate combination with the Thin Mint Cookies and mint flavor cashew butter. Don’t skip the cashew butter. It actually gives this mint chocolate protein shake a thick smoothie type texture.
Trust me you won’t regret making this.
Ingredients in Thin Mint Protein Shake
This Thin Mint protein shake is made with a few simple ingredients, and uses actual Thin Mint cookies!
- Chocolate Protein Powder: This is the core ingredient to this mint chocolate protein shake. Make sure you use a good quality one. I recommend Whey-Casein from Quest Nutrition for this recipe to make it thick and smooth.
- Mint Vanilla flavored Cashew Butter; from American Dream Nut Butter. It’s lower fat and higher protein than normal, and just amazing (code HAYLSKITCHEN gives you a discount on these).
ADNB has other amazing flavors that would work well here too. - Thin Mint Cookies
- Black Cocoa Powder; I use the one from Weirdo Good.
- Unsweetened Cocoa
- Unsweetened Almond Milk
- Water
- Crushed Ice
How do you make the Perfect Mint Chocolate Protein Shake?
This mint chocolate protein shake is a simple recipe and just needs you to blend everything in a blender. Here’s some tips to get the perfect mint chocolate protein powder shake:
- Use whey-casein protein powder as specified. It works well with the ratio of ingredients here.
Whey-casein absorbs more liquid, and whey absorbs less, so you need to adjust the liquid accordingly for the right consistency of this thin mint shake. - Don’t skip the cashew butter; It gives this thin mint shake a thicker consistency.
- Put the wet ingredients in the blender first, then the dry ingredients. This prevents the dry ingredients from sticking to the bottom of the blender.
- Scrape down the sides of the blender as needed so everything mixes well.
- Blend until all the ice is crushed and you have a smooth thin mint shake; It might take a bit longer depending on the blender, but it will work out.
Add more ice if you want a thick mint chocolate protein smoothie.
More options for Healthy Thin Mint Smoothie
I made this a low-calorie and healthy Thin Mint smoothie with the list of ingredients I mentioned, but here’s some other alternatives.
- Black Cocoa: Regular Cocoa
- Almond Milk: Other non-dairy or regular milk
If you’re Vegan, use a plant based protein powder and diet-friendly mint cookies to make this chocolate mint protein shake; I recommend Dymatize Complete Plant Protein Powder.
